Your Baby Week 13

Choosing a reliable childcare provider for your baby is often a long and tiring process. Not only are there many different options out there, but sometimes it is hard to tell what would be best for your family, and what you can afford.

It is best to remember to keep your options open. In today's society you can choose from in-home childcare or childcare run in a group day care center. Whereas home-based childcare offers more one on one time with the baby and generally a smaller group of kids (or maybe just your baby on his own), the group day care will offer a more structured and organized program that will help your baby develop and learn.

To find either of these types of settings, make sure you ask around and consult with friends and family. Ask your doctor, ask at your church, and look in the paper. Your options for finding the perfect "home away from home" for your child are endless.

Week 13 Milestones

Your baby might actually be starting to sleep longer if not through the night at this point! His body is finally figuring out the whole day and night issue, and he is able to eat and store more in the evenings to get him through the night without waking up for several meals.

What Might Concern You at 13 Weeks

Does your baby seem a bit "spastic"? At this point your 3 month old is not yet able to coordinate all of his movements and will often miss when trying to grab object. Don’t be concerned as these movements will eventually come together and your infant will be able to easily acquire whatever object he is going after.
