Your Baby Week 15

Remember that every baby is different. Not only will your baby not be hitting the same milestones at the same time as other babies you know, but he won’t look the same. Some babies are short with rolls. Others are long and lean. Neither of these possibilities determines if your baby will be heavy or skinny as an adult.

In reality, it doesn’t matter how big your baby is now. Doctors commonly use a growth chart to keep track of your baby’s growth. The chart is on a curve, and within a couple of months, your baby’s curve will become apparent. When you visit the pediatrician, the chart will be updated and as long as your baby doesn’t fall off his curve, then your doctor will probably tell you not to worry about how your baby looks, and that your baby is completely healthy.

Week 15 Milestones

At this point your baby might be able to razz, which is when they make a wet razzing noise. It is just another form of communication for your baby.

What Might Concern You at 15 Weeks

Has your baby found his thumb? Thumb sucking in infants and children is a common form of comfort and has been seen as early as in utero. At first you may think this is cute, but after a while you might start worrying about it being harmful to your baby.

At this stage it isn’t dangerous to your baby for him to be sucking his thumb. Because he doesn’t have his permanent teeth yet he won’t be hurting the shape or growth of his mouth. Most children out grow the habit relativ
