Your Baby Week 25If you are breastfeeding and have decided to just introduce the bottle now either as another form of feeding or because you are trying to wean from the breast, you are likely to have a difficult time. At this point your baby knows what he likes, and nursing is much easier, and it lets him be closer to you. There are a few things you can try to help make the transition easier. Try feeding him either on an empty stomach, or if that doesn't work, when he is almost full. Don't let him know that this is a big deal. Act like it doesn't mean anything, and that it is just something new you are trying. Try letting someone else feed the baby his bottle. Babies tend to take a bottle better from someone other than their mother, especially since a baby's sense of smell is acute and he can smell breast milk, even if the breast is not exposed. Remember your babies' feet will grow quickly, so don't spend a lot of money on shoes when you buy them, and make sure you get breathable shoes for your baby. Stay away from the plastic.
