I have severe itching and a rash which my doctor says is PUPPP (a pregnancy rash) the thing that I have found that works best is a soap called "Grandpa's Pine Tar soap" it's sold at GNC or online at various sites. It's pretty cheap. It doesn't smell very good, but it works great to stop the itch! I've been bathing with it 2-3 times a day....I wash with regular body wash like I normally would, then rub the bar of soap directly on my skin, rub it into a lather, then rinse it off.

I have not experienced any itching, but if i do i am trying to be all natural while pregnant. I dont take any medicine and do not even use topical creams for bug bites. My friend told me that minced garlic will help a yeast infection. You just spread it on like a cream. Ofcousre you will smell like garlic for a while, but it seems the most 'natural' way to me.

Jessica - I had this terrible rash and itch for weeks and tried everything until I resorted to only water and air drying (which helped more than the creams and pastes). It unfortunately kept coming back, and I was also losing my mind. So I reverted to Nipple cream, and it worked! I apply some twice a day and it really calms everythign down and soothes. The rash isn't completely gone yet, but it looks like it will be soon. I hope this works for you as it did for me!

I've had unexplained itching for years that has come and gone, but it seemed to be under control for the last 6 months using a steroid cream prescribed by a doctor. Now that I'm pregnant, nothing is working. I've actually drawn blood. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and I'm going out of my mind. It been nonstop for 3 weeks now. Any other suggestions?

I have had the same thing as Monica. I'm 12 weeks pregnant, and the first time this happened to me was around 6 weeks, right before my first prenatal appt. The nurse practitioner that did the exam said everything was fine, no infection, and seemed to think I was a little bit crazy when I said I read online that it could be a pH imbalance. Well, I use baking soda for everything else, so I figured, why not try applying a paste? It worked, after burning pretty acutely for a minute. I washed it off pretty quickly because I had not seen any posts about the burning sensation, but the itch went away. It came back this week, I did the same thing and it worked. Total life saver.

Now to get my OB to believe me!

I was having vaginal itching. I am 36 weeks pregnant. I tried the baking soda and water paste. It burned for about 2 minutes and then the pain subsided. Now the vaginal itch seems to have gone away. Looks like PH balance is common during pregnancy but make sure to tell your doctor about it. I'm going to tell him at my appointment this week. Thanks for the advice!

It's important to discuss serious itch with your doctor because cholestasis could potentially endanger the fetus. Many doctors are not familar with this condition.
