I agree, the numbers really are so personal to the mama and baby that it is impossible to tell when your new little one will be delivered based on how far along you are dialated or effaced or stationed. I was dialated to 3cm at 36 weeks with my first and he was induced at 42 weeks - large and in charge from the beginning! I am at 38 weeks now, 2cm dialated 75% effaced and it is business as usual for me, he will be here when he wants to be here - no matter what I do! :) Love those babies!

Ok ladies, I went to the Dr Wednesday and was 36wks and 5days pregnant. They did the routine strep test, and during that he checked to see if I was dilated, and indeed I am, I was 3cm and 90% effaced!! Excited to hear this news I thought surely it'd be that day or the next, well its Friday and I'm still pregnant. The nurse said some women walk around for wks like this. So I'm convinced these numbers don't mean squat it just means your body is getting ready for labor, reality is the baby will come when its ready! Don't try castor oil or any of that mess, if it gives you the runs, it'll do the same for baby, and that could be deadly if the baby inhales or swallows its own bowel movement. Just be patient.

I am 37 weeks and 5 days. I was check last thurs. Sept. 24th and was 1-2cm and 90% effaced. They said her head was low but didn't give me a station number. I go back tomorrow Oct. 1st! Also, I started loosing my plug about a week ago and it slowly stopped coming. Does that mean its completely out?

i am 36 weeks. the dr told me that the baby is really low and that i am really thinned out... but ddnt say how much. have had false labor once and had to have a pill to stop my contractions. if i dont go into labor on my own i will be induced in 2 weeks due to my little boy's size. he is very small and they are worried that he is not getting any nutrition. he is in the 9th percent in weight... they consider normal to be 50 percent! my dr said that he starts to run the risk of being stillborn if he is not getting any nutrition so they will probably take him just to be on the safe side. i have weekly sonograms to check on the bloodflow through the umbilical cord to make sure it is okay. i also have weekly non-stress tests to check on his heart. i feel for any who are having a difficult pregnancy and i pray for you and your baby! know that you are not alone.

Im 36 weeks 5 days with our first! I just got checked yesterday 4cm dialated, 90% effaced, -1 station. Ive been contracting and in so much pain for the last week. Doctor says she doesnt think ill be pregnant for too much longer and that when things do pick up to high tail it to the hospital because it should happen fast! ONLY NOT FAST ENOUGH! I dont know how much longer I can handle this. Any suggestions or thoughts?
