The day is long and the sun is shining. There are pool parties, slip and slides, baby pools, and backyard barbecues. Summer is here and it’s time to pick up your trusty digital camera and snap away while enjoying everything from the big surf to the local water park. Needless-to-say a summer day is perfect in so many ways when it comes to snapping pictures of your kids while they frolic and play.

How’s a summer day perfect for those priceless family photo treasures?

Your light source, the sun, is your best friend.
The grass is bright green and will provide the perfect contrast for your little one(s).
Flowers are abundant and make a great prop or backdrop.
There’s just so much going on in the summer from family reunions to lazy days around the pool to the yearly vacation at the beach.

Preserving these sun-filled memories will allow you to make neat photo collages or you can opt to bind your memories in a precious photo book or photo cards. Maybe you might like to make your own video montage set to some upbeat tunes. There are many various programs out there that make doing these types of video simple and fun. Whatever you choose to do with your summer time pictures, it’s bound to be great.

Most importantly, though, you will be able to share–with all your loved ones–your family’s fun filled days of summer! Oh, and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Once a year that special day rolls around; the day you celebrate the birth of your baby. No matter how old your child, he or she is forever your baby. However with each passing year there are many notable changes. While we may take pictures of them all the time, highlighting beautiful life moments, there’s something special to be said for pictures being taken on their actual date of birth. It’s sentimental and really sweet.

There are many ways to commemorate your son or daughter’s birthday. Something interesting might be taking pictures throughout the whole day and creating a photo book or an online journal. This tradition would prove to be priceless, years down the road. It would be so extraordinary to have a stack of albums that depict the changes that each year brings. Not only for you to look back on–in remembrance–but for your child(ren) to look back on and share with [his or her] future children.

So when your child’s special day rolls around, pull out your trusty camera, and have fun shooting the day. Capture the regular aspects life: capture smiles, little tantrums, meals, twinkly eyes, naps, bath-time, play-time, everything. Life is full of these amazing moments for us to highlight and remember!

Plan what you want to photo journal (birthday, party, family outing, etc..)
Pick a topic that showcases your special day
Print photos or have photo books made
Add captions to your photo journal for an extra touch, and
