Today is the first day of 2008, so Happy New Year everyone! I am hoping for many good things this year, including possible graduation in December and getting Calan and Logan kindergarten ready for the coming school year!
"SACRIFICE." "We all make them. You can't keep thinking about what you lost. That's the thing. Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, your're not really losing it. You're just passing it on to something else." m.albom
Raising a child with special needs inherently comes with a great deal of sacrifice. But, for the sake of my son, I know it has all been worth it.
Update: The boys had their well-check in April. It came a little after their 5th birthday, but we do what we can. At least they got theirs, we completely forgot about Hunter's until the Boy Scouts office let us know he needs a physical before going to summer camp. Everything went well. Calan was 38obs, Logan was 41lbs. They cried when it was time to check height, so we'll have to get that one at a later date. It is June now. The weather is getting warm and we have been spending a lot of time at the park and at baseball on Saturday mornings. Calan and Logan as well as Hunter are all playing this year. They are so fun to watch. Hunter thinks he's the next all star player. Logan gets tired of kids missing the ball after it gets batted out and has decided he needs to be the one to get it EVERY time. He practically pushes kids to the ground to make sure the ball gets into his glove and over to first base. The boys had their last day of ECE on Monday the 9th. It was very sad as they said their goodbyes to the teachers they have had for the past 2.5 years. Calan keeps asking if he has school today, but doesn't seem to realize that summer vacation is more than just a weekend. Silly kid! Calan has another surgery on his palate in September. Unfortunately, the first one was hardly successful and the surgeon believes a second one will help tighten those loose areas and get him talking with more clarity. He was in obvious pain last time, so we are greatly disappointed to have to put him through it again. Our fingers will be crossed.
