THANKS

04/24/08- we visited Uruguay and threw Iaia a surprise birthday party - she turned 70 and boy was she surprised :) - We had a blast in Uruguay, visited the hot springs, the park a lot, hang out with new friends and visited Montevideo for a bit. In the way back from Uruguay we stayed a couple of days in Daytona Beach Florida, it was a bit chilly but we loved it! Had a blast just by chasing the seagulls :) - back home we got a surprise too, we have now a trampolin - which Seby and I love and jump constantly - and mami loves to see how tired we get from the 'play' :)
My speech is improving a lot,and FINALLY I'm potty trained :) (I still have a few accidents here and there but there are no more pull-ups in the house :) yeahhhh!!!!

1/22/08- well, I had the 3 year old check-up and yeap I'm way in the charts now ( 38 1/4 " 75%, 28lbs 20%) but still under 30 lbs, so now booster seat yet :( and I so want one like my brother.... he has cup-holders and all...
Potty training is being a bit of a challenge... I know what, how and when to do it, I just have to WANT to do it, cause when I'm busy why should I trouble with going to the bathroom? and if you know me, I'm always busy, I am always into something or another... oh yeah, and if I have nothing to do I'll go smack my brother and come tell that 'Seby hit me' so I can get him in trouble :)
My attention span is still very short, too short for most of my needs, so we are 'working' on expanding it, but my mami says it's really really hard to do :) - She even thinks that I might have a slight behavioral problem due to the short attention span... they are gonna keep an eye on that to see if I can 'grow out of it' :)

12/17/07- woww - lots to tell - mami needs to update this page soon :) meanwhile, check my life thru my picts in winkflash :)

10/15/07- We went to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, Lawton, Ok this past weekend and the kids really enjoyed it! Fiona was not a bit scared of the heights and was strongly trying to climb up rocks, vans, whatever she could :). She loved the prairie-dogs and even the buffaloes. She was taking it all in! and learning new stuff along the way. She is slowly becoming more verbally social, such as introducing herself (before when she was asked her name she would say a thing, now she can tell you what her name is and how old she is). Of course her guiding light is still her big brother Seby, they must be together all the time, otherwise they either get bored or they seem lost.... Fiona is a dare-devil, afraid of nothing! and loves to taunt and push things to the limit :). Her vocabulary is progressing steady. At the end of the month, when she turns 3, she will be transferred to the school system for her verbal therapy, so we are in the process of doing all the paperwork and arranging schedules etc - lots of meetings for mami! -. Both kids have started this semester the Head Start program here in Mannford, and they both seem to be benefiting from it quite a bit, Fiona becoming more verbally social and Seby just becoming a little man! They have lots of pre-school type of activities, more than a daycare would have, which seems very beneficial.
Fiona gets into these talking non-stop moods, and of course we don't pay much attention when she talks just for the fun of it, but one day I was paying attention and we heard this 'Fiona no touch, Fiona no touch, don't touch, Fiona touch, Fiona toucheed itttt!' :) I guess she hears don't touch a bit :) hee hee, my little 'angel'
She is into purses, shoes (of course, this child LOVES shoes), and dressing 'pretty' (dresses, hair bows, skirts, they are all 'pretties'). She knows she needs her 'ears' to hear, and when she is not 'on' she will ask for her ears, and when they are not on or if they are not working properly she will let you know (of course is up to us to figure out what's wrong with them...). Fiona is doing pretty good with the potty training, asking more and more to go 'pee-pee in toilet' and kinda of knowing when she has to do the other but not in the toilet yet. We are still having trouble waking up dry, so she is still in pull-ups most of the day... so I don't foresee her being completely out of pull-ups by 3 like I was hoping....oh well, she'll get there eventually.
In september mami was gone for 2 weeks, and Fiona didn't seem to miss her so much as we all expected :( - but when mami got back Fiona didn't let her out of her sight for a minute!

8/8/07 - We went to Uruguay at the end of June and Fiona charmed everybody whom she encountered :) Everybody loves Fiona :) even though she reciprocates with 'tough' love and loves to hit and smack people around!! yeah, sweet girl of mine :) Lots of Uruguay picts in winkflash!
Back home she is progressing really good with the potty training, she asks to go pee-pee and does really good during the day. We are still trying to wake up dry and trying to ask to go #2 - we are working on it :)
Grandma and GrandpaCharlie come to visit us with the RV (late July), and mean Grandma was riding MY jeep! and of course I had to throw a fit so they'll know that I do not like that :) Seba and I loved the RV - our playhouse :) I had to touch all the buttons available and flip every reachable switch, and of course I messed something up, I shut down the power to the RV!!! poor grandpa Charlie had to go to the RV manual to figure out what I messed up :) well...I'm a very curious girl you know! We got to go camping and fishing too!
Since the last time my webpage was updated we have changed 'schools' and in the new school in a smaller setting with an organized and followed schedule Fiona is learning a lot! (while she wasn't in their previous school)
She is taking weekly verbal therapy lessons and steadily progressing with her speech.
Testing on her verbal abilities was done and she is still behind her age in verbal comprehension and speech, but will steady therapy she will catch up in no time. On the other hand she excelled in physical abilities and memory testing!
Fiona LOVES shoes, and I'm not exaggerating neither, she HAS to try every shoe she finds, even at the McDonlad's playground. Grandma says that Fiona got her 'shoe loving gene' :) and I believe it! Fiona got a lot of Grandma and aunt JeAnne!
Fiona is turning into a 'girly' girl and loves to wear 'pretties' which means earrings/dresses/hair clips/etc. She will point at the 'pretty' she wants :) 'I want prrettiiie' Of course she owns various pairs of shoes (mami likes shoes too!) and changes them quite a few times during the day. Even her new teacher (new school) had to comment on how much Fiona loves to try on her classmates shoes :)

No need to tell you that there are TONS of picts of our trip in the photo album, so go grab a cup of coffee and relax, look at us :)

02/20/07- My Second FREEDOM is on
01/22/07- I got my second FREEDOM (left side) today.
11/30/05- My FREEDOM is now ON
10/31/05- I got my FREEDOM (Cochlear Implant, right ear) in today
2/2/05- Fiona came home today :) She is doing great, trying to survive the 'big brother' love that Seba tries to give her :) Bye Bye NICU :)

I particularly loved Kili- Iaia's littlest dog - she was MY size :)

we visited Montevideo too!

Fiona Victoria Bell was born on Sunday October 31st of 2004 at 11:59am in Tulsa, Oklahoma (yeap, I'm an okie just like my big brother :) ). She was born at barely 26 weeks of gestation and
weighed 1 lb 15 oz (approx 880 gm) and was 13 1/2 in long.
Although quite premature, Fiona is doing good. She is finally ready to embrace the world and enjoy her family fully, so on 2/2/05 (after 94 long NICU days, PDA, ROP, double hernia surgery and total bilateral hearing loss) she was able to come
home :) where she is being loved every minute by mami, papi and big brother Seba.
