After a stressful pregnancy our little guy has arrived. My water broke at 32wks and I made it to 33wks and 1 day before going into labor.
Jonas was born at 12:28pm on Friday October 13/2006 weighing 5lbs .6 ozs and measuring 19" long. 15 long days later he came home and we are getting settled in as a family with our newest addition.
Despite being so early Jonas has done remarkably well. He spent 7 hours on a ventilator, but other than that he has had no complications from being so early. All his tests have come back normal and he's perfectly healthy and thriving.
Loving his cake. :)
12.5 mos old.
Jonas is legally both old enough and big enough to be turned forward facing in his carseat, however, remaining rear facing provides so much extra protection to toddlers that he will remain rear facing until he outgrows the seat. Rear-facing children are 4 times less likely to be killed or seriously injured in a crash compared to a forward facing child, that's a pretty significant statistic... Jillian made it until close to her 3rd b-day before she hit 30lbs and had to be turned forward facing, I'm hoping Jonas makes it to at least 2yrs old - he's heavier and taller than his big sister was at this age, so will likely outgrow the seat before she did. ;-)
