I would like to introduce our special boy with duplication 4p
Joshua James
Joshie on the beach
My name is Kathryn and my husband is called Andrew. We are originally from Leeds in the UK and emigrated to New Zealand in April 2005. I have two sons Jonathan who is 6 and Joshua who is 3. Born 26/12/04. The detection of Joshuas additional chromosome only started after we had emigrated to New Zealand which you can imagine was a major trauma in our lives and shortly afterwards he was diagnosed with an additional chromosome made up of the entire arm of 4p and the entire arm of 15p (which has no effect).
Joshua is a lovely happy smiling happy boy and has global developmental delay so is now nearly walking and although has good reciprocal communication has no words as yet but has his own noises to communicate.
He has a few skeletal problems with his hands and feet (has needed an operation on both)but other than that has no other problems and is extremely healthy. He is just starting to walk holding my hand and is super fast at crawling and into everything.
