Liberty Isabelle Marlow was born on January 8, 2007 at 8:19pm. She was 7lbs. 10 1/2 oz and was 19 1/2 inches. On February 19th Libby was 10 lbs. 3 oz. Liberty is a very good baby. She smiles ALOT. Libby only cries when she is hungry or very tired. Now that I am back to work we are trying to get on a schedule to make all of our lives easier. She loves her swing and sitting up to look around.
The picture of my mom and Libby is from the day Libby was born. My mom only got to hold her twice. I talk to Libby about Grandma Judy everyday-we miss her lots.
Aunt Jessica think she looks like a cabbage patch kid with her big eyes and chubby cheeks. I think she looks more like her daddy everyday.
LIBERTY IS 3 MONTHS OLD!! Our big girl now weighs 15 lbs. Libby still rarely ever cries. She is a very good sleeper at night. Libby loves her new chair that Papa Ben and Grammy CeCe bought her for her first Easter. She likes it better than her bouncy seat because she can see more things around the room. Libby is starting to show interest in TV and the dogs. She "talks" and smiles all the time. She has even started to laugh!
Liberty is 4 1/2 Months old Just a little Libby update. She is still such a good baby. Libby hardly ever cries. She didn't even cry when I took her for her 4 month shots. She fussed a little because she didn't like it that I was holding her arms down. Otherwise she didn't make a peep. Libby loves to "talk". Sometimes when I sing to her it is like she is trying to "sing" back-it is so cute. Daddy can always make Libby laugh. Some nights he just has to walk up to her and talk to her and she will giggle.
Libby has started to hold her own bottle. This week she has learned to tip it when it gets to the end so she can finish it without help. We haven't started cereal yet but we will when Libby is ready.
Libby went on her first camping trip Memorial Day weekend. She slept with mom and dad one night because it was so cold but the otherwise the weather was fine. Libby loved being outside. She likes to watch the trees blow in the wind.
Liberty's First Vacation June 8-16 we went to Michigan to visit Papa Ben, Grammy CeCe and the whole gang. Libby was very good. She is an excellent traveler. We went up north, shopped, swam and ate out a lot. Libby hung right in there with us the whole time. She hardly ever got crabby. We hope she is that good next year when she is running all over the place!!
Liberty is 6 Months Old!! I can't believe it has been 6 month already! Libby weighs 17 lbs. 13oz. and is 26 1/2 inches. Just another couple of months and she will need a "big girl" carseat! She was very good again when she got her 6 month shots. She cried a little this time and got a little bit of a fever but she was a trooper. Libby still has not gotten any teeth. She continues to chew on her finger like they will be appearing at anytime. We have started giving her cereal, fruits and veggies. She is not a fussy eater and will eat anything we give her. I think the veggies are her favorite.
Libby still continues to be a very good baby. She has gotten used to her new day care that she started when we got back from vacation. She loves seeing her cousins Taylor and Caleb everyday. They are very protective of her.
Libby has figured out how to roll over and can sit up by herself! She is a little wobbly at sitting and still needs a little help. Libby loves to play on the floor with her toys and "move" all over the place. She gets one leg up on her knee like she wants to start crawling but hasn't quite figured out how to get up on both knees at the same time. Libby is also starting to try to lift herself up into sitting position. She is also getting better about falling asleep on her own. Some nights I still rock her to sleep but not every night. Our girl is getting so big!!
Liberty's First Hospital Stay
Libby spent Monday night (August 20) at St. Luke's. It all started Friday night. Mike and I took Libby to the mall for shopping and dinner. She didn't seem sick, just very tired. We got home, she ate some cereal, and went to bed. She ended up sleeping with us because she wouldn't stop crying. Saturday she was a little fussy but I just thought she was cutting teeth. On Saturday she slept (only while I would hold her) from about 4pm until 10:30. I had been taking her temperature thought out the afternoon and it kept increasing. Around 10:45 on Saturday her temp was 104. I called the on call doctor and he told me to take her to the ER. So we (Libby and I-Mike was out of town). They told me she has a little ear infection and was probably just cutting teeth. She has been eating good up until then. I had been giving her Tylenol all day but vomited what I gave her at the hospital. They gave Libby a shot to clear up her ear infection and sent us home. Sunday she vomited much of the afternoon. She gagged whenever I tried to feed her or give her any medication. Her temp varied from 102-103 all day. All day she just wanted to sleep and sleep. Monday morning I took Libby to the doctor. They immediately sent us to the hospital. Libby was really dehydrated and they needed to start an IV. At the hospital they took her blood, gave her a chest x-ray (they put her in this plastic cone with her arms over her head-she didn't even cry) and started an IV. She was such a trooper considering she was stuck with a bunch of needles by strangers. Monday afternoon she slept and slept. Monday night she started to have wet diapers again, drank a little Pedialyte and her fever was gone. The nurses told us she just had a viral infection and couldn't give Libby any meds. Tuesday morning she started to take formula again. Tuesday evening she ate some carrots so they let us go home about 7:30. She is still a little cranky-wants to be held all the time and is very sleepy. We go back to the doctor next week for a check up. Still no teeth. It is going to be a rough couple of weeks trying to get her back on a schedule and sleeping on her own again!!
Libby is 9 Months Old!! Wow, time flies. I can't believe our girl is 9 months old already. She is getting so big. I am not sure how much she weighs since we haven't been to the doctor recently. We were going on Thursday but had to reschedule for later this month since our doctor moved away. Libby is trying really hard to crawl. Today she started getting up on all fours but still can't go forward yet. She scoots backwards a lot and then gets frustrated. Her main mode of transport is still rolling. Libby has learned how to clap. Whenever she sees people clapping on TV or hears cheering she will start clapping. It is so cute! We tried to get her to do it at Daddy's birthday party the other night but she was too tired. Libby LOVES to eat. She loves anything that she can feed herself. She is starting to loose interest in being spoon fed except when she is really hungry. Libby continues to be her chatterbox self. She mostly blabs but we can understand mama, dada, hi and we are working on papa. Hopefully she will have that mastered by the time my dad comes for a visit.
