We gave Claire a lifetime of love in just four short days. Claire passed away on Feb 15, 2003 from complications as a result of Trisomy 13. We miss her and will never forget those four wonderful days where we held her, loved her, and cherished every moment with her. Our lives are changed now, and we know things will never be the same. Claire will forever be on our minds and in our hearts. We miss you, angel!
Claire's big brother Maxx stayed in NICU for 2 1/2 weeks, coming home just before Davey's 5th birthday. We brought him home in a gift bag, since Maxx coming home by his birthday was the only thing Davey asked for this year. Though he started out pretty small, Maxx has grown faster than any of us thought he would! At 6 months of age, Maxx weighed 14 lbs and was 26 1/2" long! Now at two, he is your typical toddler, full of mischief and laughter! He has, since the very beginning, brightened our days with smiles and laughter, and for that we feel blessed. Not a day goes by where we don't think of Claire, but having Maxx to care for and to share with our friends and family helps lessen the pain.
Please help us remember Claire for the wonderful gift she was. We will never forget her.
Daddy’s little angel - by Robin Rice
Our twin angel So tiny and new We held you close Our love, so true
Despite our prayers You could not stay So Daddy held you Night and day
We kissed your hands And touched your face Your special memory Won’t be erased
Those precious hours We held you tight As you grew tired On your last night
We tried so hard To keep you there We prayed and cried In such despair
Your heart was weak Your breaths were slow But pain and cold You did not know
For in our arms You felt our love And then God held you In heaven above
Though you are gone We feel you near A peaceful calm Relieves our fears We’d trade the world For one last touch We miss you, Claire So very much~
We would also like to share a picture in our photo gallery of Claire's brother, Noa, who is watching over her in heaven. Noa died of SIDS in 1996 at 2 months of age. Though 9 years time has passed since his death, the warm and precious memories remain forever in our hearts and minds. We love them both very much, and look forward to the day when we will hold Noa and Claire in heaven again!
