At 1 month I weighed 11.0 lbs . I really grew! I was 21 1/2 inches long by then too! I was already pretty good at baby push-ups. Everyone kept talking about how strong I was!
At 2 months I weighed 13.8 lbs and measured 23 3/4 inches ! I can do really good baby push-ups for a long time now! When someone holds my back steady I can hold my head up too! I'm also trying to talk a whole lot. Mommy talks to me all the time, so I talk at her too! I can even recognize her voice over the telephone!
At 3 months I weighed 16 lbs! I'm still doing my baby push ups & getting even better at holding up my head. Nana has me sitting in my Bumbo seat while she warms up my bottles. I love to hear Granna sing and I try to sing along. I had to go to the doctor b/c mom was afraid I wasn't breathing very well. The doctor said I was fine & even gave me a little kiss on the cheek! I'm eating up to 42 oz a day! Mom is still trying to get me to sleep through the night. Its not working though! I really like to wake up and nurse. Plus if I wake her up at night she'll let me sleep in the bed with her & daddy. Their bed is much more comfortable than mine! Daddy says we need to get me a Sleep Number bed like theirs so I'll sleep better. I think I'd rather sleep all snuggled up next to them though!
I went to work with Mommy 5/20/08! She's a Forensic Biologist at the Crime Lab. I got some lessons on how to look through a microscope. I spoke to the druggies (Forensic Drug Chemists). I filled in for her Lt by telling everyone to "Git back to work!" I even got cuddled by a secretary (Administrative Specialist)! Everyone is convinced I'd be a great lab mascot. I can't say I disagree... Afterall who could resist a cute, cuddly baby? Certainly not anyone my mommy works with! Check out my Photo Gallery to see photos!
For my 4 month check-up I got more shots! :-( However, Mommy made it all better by feeding me & cuddling with me afterwards. I weighed 18 lbs! . My nana asked why I could splay my legs out like most babies. The Nurse Practictioner said that it was b/c I have thunder thighs! :-) Mommy & nana like them, so I guess I'll live w/ it! Otherwise I was pronounced completely healthy & ready to start solid foods! Yippie! I don't think Mommy wants to start me yet though b/c she's afraid it will make me not want to nurse any more. She's wrong though. I really like nursing! I've learned how to roll from my tummy to my back and from my back to my tummy. I'd much rather roll onto my tummy b/c then I can try to scoot around! Now that I can roll like this I get to sleep on my belly! I'm sleeping much better now. I only wake Mommy once in the middle of the night.
I didn't have a 5 month check-up, but Mommy weighed me and I'm over 20 lbs! I've out-grown my baby car-seat & I'm now in a convertible seat! I'm such a big boy! Mommy had to take me to work w/ her again - nana was sick & couldn't watch me. She took more photos, but this time I decided not to do any of her work for her. I made her pay attention to me instead! She finally had to leave early just so I'd quit bugging her. I am her little dictator she says - then she laughs b/c my middle name is Richard - nickname "Dick." I don't really know why that's so funny, but I laugh w/ her anyway. I'm really good at laughing now. I am trying to learn to move around the room, but so far I just kind of scoot on my belly and/or roll from place to place. I don't get very far. I'm also trying to learn how to sit on my own. So far I can only make it for a minute or so. I'd much rather eat my toes than concentrate on balancing and staying sitting up-right! Mommy is also really excited that I'm starting to say things like "mamamama" and "nananana". She keeps trying to get me to say "mama", but I'd rather just keep repeating. Oh, and I have 4 teeth! I got my first one 6/21/08 and my latest one 7/3/08. Mommy & everyone else say I'm growing too fast. I don't think so though. I'm ready to be walking around doing what I want. Until then I guess I'll just 'dick'tate where my keepers take me!
